More Sint album and some new projects...

The album is slowly filling up!

I made a page with 'official' pictures of Sint and his pieten... the Sinterklaasjournaal put these on their site this year... to my delight, i must say, because it's very difficult to find good pictures from our celebrity pieten... and they had a very nice one of Sorry piet... my absolute favorite piet!!!

And the album needed some stories about the Sint's visit to our neighborhood and the unexpected gifts Gerard and i found last Saturday in my yellow  garden clogs!

I used my new tag maker with the star shaped metal tags, and using those is much more fun than i thought at first... those shapes give a nice and finished feel to the page...

Now, about those other projects... i'm working on a on-line Christmas workshop  project for Pien's... it's working out really well so far, but you'll have to wait till after the workshop before i can share what it is...

And on Monday Shimelles on-line Journal Your Christmas class... so i'm trying to prepare myself so i can participate from the first moment... hmmm, that won't be an easy task, because Stach is ill!!! Last night he came out of his bed a couple of times, and this morning his temperature was way too high! Poor guy! So my home is turning into sickbay again!

Oh,my 'patient' is in need of my immediate attention! Back to the thermometer and suppositories

Sint album, tagged and a pietenmobile kit...

The Sinterklaas season is in full swing around here... we watch the Sinterklaasjournaal every evening, read the Sinterlaasjournaal paper, we went to see Sint and his pieten visit our neighborhood last Saturday, Stach got a few presents in his shoe already (and mum and dad too) and today Sint phoned Stach's teacher in class to tell here that he will visit the school next Friday!

I made a special album for Stach to store all those captured moments and the Sinterklaasjournaal papers...

Stach made a special drawing for Sinterklaas, and put it in his shoe with a carrot for Amerigo (Sint's white horse). I secretly took it out for a moment and made this picture. The next morning it was gone, and my guess is that Sint is very happy with this beautiful artwork, don't you agree?

1. i have a highly organized studio... i cannot work in a mess, and even tidy during my project making!

And last but not least...
I got an email a few days ago from a lovely lady who was very interested in the felt Pietjesmobile i made... she asked me to tell her where she could buy the pattern, to make it too! Well, i took that as a compliment, because it's not a store bought kit, but my own design!
Of course i was happy to help her (always nice when people appreciate what you do!) and made a worksheet and a few patterns, and combined a lovely kit for her!
So, i sold my first kit today, how much fun is that?!

Pietenmobile...

The felt Pietjes and other items i was working on yesterday are now a finished project, happily hanging at my living room window...

The strings between the figures are made with tiny beads...

and a few bells at the bottom of the mobile made this project just perfect...

I really love celebrating Sinterklaas... so this mobile will nice decoration for the years to come... as long as the the magic about Sint and his Pieten will be alive in our family...

In time for Christmas...

Last September i made a project for Scrap! The article was about home made gifts for Christmas.
This week the issue finally hit the stands...

My idea was to make a special gift with patterned paper, but i wanted it to be out of the ordinary... not an 'every day' scrapbook project... so i made two pieces of jewelry...

I'm really pleased with the way the project turned out, but when i searched for the photo in the magazine today i got really disappointed... i don't like the way it got published... it does not justice to the items, because you can't really see what it is... all the details got lost!!!

Luckily i took my own pictures before i send the project to the publisher...

This brooch (on a hart shaped felt gift cushion) is made with Basic Grey paper, tiny gold beads and gold embossing powder... for extra fun i added some tiny jewelry bells at the bottom... and it has a matching gift card (tiny tag is from Making Memories)...

This one is made with Paper Salon paper, tiny silver beads and silver embossing powder... the brooch is embellished with pearls and silver flower beads... and a matching gift card (tiny tag is from Making Memories)...
I could not capture the enameled detail on the patterned paper... both brooches are covered in the middle with a thick glossy coat... gives it a luxurious shine, and the paper is protected...

I think that these two will make lovely Christmas gifts, don't you?

Other news...
I'm glad to say that i'm feeling much better than a few days ago... so hopefully i'm completely back to business next week...

Although my Christmas gifts are already done, the Christmas season hasn't hit here yet...
We celebrate Sinterklaas first...
Last year i wanted to make some felt Sinterklaas decorations, but i couldn't find the time... but due to the stomach flue situation, time was not a problem this year, so i started with this...

The 5 by 5 inch presents (used some Basic Grey and KI memories paper as gift wrap), two Zwarte Pietjes and the brown bag are done, and the last piece i'm working on is the mijter from Sinterklaas... it's a really cute project, and great for using those left over pieces of paper and felt...

I'll show you the finished project tomorrow!

Goodies from the Craft show...

Well, i can't say i'm feeling much better than yesterday... my energy level has reached an absolutely low point...
But i really want to do something today other than resting, reading and sleeping, so... as promised... the goodies i bought at  the Kreadoe...

A nice selections of seasonal stamps (clear stamp sheet: Hero-arts; wood mounted stamps: Hampton art;  round stamps: Teresa Collins by Stampers anonymous and Cat's life press) and rub-ons (Creative imaginations) a die for the machine i purchased last year at the Kreadoe and a Creative Cafe self-inking calender stamp (by Hampton art)...

I finally got my hands on the beautiful papers from the Ambrosia line by Basic Grey, and some Prima papers and a few sheets of the October Afternoon Christmas line... the red velvet letters are made by Prima...

Since Christmas is peeking around the corner, my selections of glitters is likely to be used a lot, so this tidy tray is a welcome tool in my studio... no more messing around with folded pieces of paper that never seems to capture all the left over glitter...

A long time longed for item: the Making Memories desktop carousel... and now i know why many fellow scrappers are so exited about it... it holds a lot of tools...

And i had another item that i - unfortunately- could not find a the Craft show, so i ordered it on-line...

So, i'm all stacked up and have many ideas for some festive projects...
But first...
i've to get better, sigh.....

Message from sickbay...

Hi there...
Long time no see...

Lot's has happened since my last post on October 14th...
I had to stop working on my Week in the Life album shortly after, because i had to prepare myself for Piens Album Track, that was scheduled on November 1th... 80 ladies attended that day and made a whole album in one day! Although we (the ladies of Pien's design team and owner Regina) had worked on the design of this album for several days already, it was still a lot of work to put all my pictures in (decided to convert them all to B&W) and finish it of with some nice details...
Anyway, more about that later...

On October 31th i turned 39 and celebrated my B-day the day after the album track with some friends and family... I got spoiled with this...

Scraptastic and a handmade piece of art from Stach (secretly made in my studio with several of my supplies - Gerard told me later that Stach exactly knew where to find all the stuff he planned to use! And he was so proud of the result!)...

 

and a new bottle of my favorite perfume and the best handmade bonbons i've tasted ever from Gerard...

and with the Kreadoe in sight, my friends and family provided me with a lot of money to shop my little heart out there...

But after visiting the craft show on November 5th, I suddenly felt ill, and went to bed... and i stayed in bed for one and a half week!!!! Apparently i have a very bad stomach flu, and i'm still not well... a bit better though two days ago, and i'm able now to do something else now than laying in bed or on the couch... (unfortunately for only a few hours a day) thank goodness, because it drove me crazy!

But enough of that... back to the Album Track from November 1th... i thought it would be nice to provide you all with an idea of what we did that day...

we made a A-4 format album with a wooden cover in Summer vacation style (perfect to scrap all those Summer vacation photo's in one day!)...

I used page protectors in my album, and therefore my pre-made wooden covers were to small... i fixed that problem by mounting the cover on orange painted greyboard... and that provided me with the opportunity to saw a circle shape out of the front cover...

and here are a few of my favorite pages...

 

One of the techniques was using old printed book pages... they make a great impact once colored with water color pencils...

And although those projects are not completely my own style (we always try to combine materials and techniques that appeal to Pien's costumers, so we can send them home with a project that 'has something for everyone'), i really like it how the album turned out...

Well, thats it for now... time to take some rest... again!!!
If i'm up to it i'll post some of the new stuff that i bought at the Kreadoe tomorrow...
