Hi there!!! I'm back! (Have you missed me???)
In case you haven't noticed (it has been quiet for a few weeks on Life and scrapping!!), we took a much needed vacation and booked a last minute on a Landal Green park in Vaals, Zuid Limburg! It was a good place to be... much to do for Stach (swimming, bowling, climbing, playing tennis, mini golf, etc.), we took a golf lesson on the nearby golf court, did a bit of sight seeing, meet up with some of our friends, and did our grocery shopping often in a mega store in Germany... (always fun to do your shopping in another country!)
I managed to get in some kind of relaxed state of mind, slept a lot and bought Frances Mayes' new book Every day in Tuscany and finished reading it too!
Last Wednesday we returned home, because i had to see my cardiologist again... my body is used to the medication now, and he increased the dosage a bit! I have to get back next Wednesday for another echo of my heart... hopefully the situation has improved a bit by then...
I have some good news to share... i'm an aunt again! My brother Riko and his wife Suzanne are the proud parents of Elsemieke Lauren! She was born on August 5th, and we went to see her yesterday! Elsemieke is super sweet, and i think she will look stunning in the T-shirt i made for her...
If you are a loyal reader of this blog, you might remember the little birdie... i made it to match the Basic Grey paper that i worked with back then, but it's very cute on this T-shirt too, don't you think?
And that T-shirt isn't the only thing i've been busy with... bought a lovely blue Making Memories album for the pages i made for the Summer Scrapbook Series (always nice, a trip to my local SS) and managed to expand my selection of Distress inks even more....
I used to keep my blending foams in a little bucket...
but now that i have so many colors, it was hard to find the right one with ease! So... i needed a solution for this problem...
I thought it was best to store them on sturdy cards, organized by color... yes, i know that many of you distress-ink users store the matching piece of foam on the back of the foam pad, but that doesn't work for me, because i keep all my ink-pads stacked in small drawers... so i made myself a little blending foam organizing system...
First i made a color chart out of all the colors i own right now, with extra space in case i get me some more (a crafty girl can never have enough colors, right?)...
and i run the charts through my laminating machine...
I cut some velcro pieces and attached those to the plastic...
Eh voila! A neat storage solution, with a cover to keep everything stain free and the foam pieces dust free! And it's easy to store too!
Now, tell me... am i the only one with a distress-inkpad collection like this?
hi girl, good to see you back! your niece is so lucky to have a crafty auntie, she just doesn't know yet ;)
and I knew I remembered that birdie! Way back, it was because of that tutorial that I arrived to your bloggie, lol :)

Hey, glad to see you back. Oh my goodness, how organised are you? - I love it! And if I had any of those distress inks I'd be copying your idea. And congratulations on becoming an Aunt again, I've another 4 months to wait!
