I don't know about you guys (addressing you crafters and scrappers!), but after month of scrapping, trips to the scrapbook store and no explicit tidying, i find piles of my favorite products in my studio...
Don't know what i'm talking about? Okay, i'll give you a close up...
See? Clear stamps... and more clear stamps underneath... and it's actually even worse, cause i had this hidden in one of my closets...
Eh, yeah... i'll admit the obvious... i'm kind of addicted to stamps... have been collecting and treasuring these acrylic sticky pieces of joy for years now, all stored in their original package... a very nice, but totally unworkable pile! So something had to be done, because it's a common fact among us scrappers: what you don't see (or find quickly in this case), you do not use!
So i got out the laminator again, and went to work... with a very neat and satisfactory result, i might add...
I stamped all the images in black ink on sturdy white printer paper, laminated it and stored the stamps on the back...
I'm not done yet, but the big pile is already reduced impressively! And i might make me a small matching storage box out of the yellow oilcloth, to put on my desk... just to temporary store the stamps that're matching the projects i'm working on...
So, that's what i've been up to these last few days, among other things (meeting friends returning from their vacation, searching for cool vintage clothing with my friend Mari, planning hospital and doctors appointments and a crafting date with Liesbeth and Marsha this next week, grocery shopping, planning some 'Big Picture Big idea festival' inspired cyber scrapping with Jo (have you been inspired to any of the shown projects yet Jo?) and watching Harry Potter 3 with Gerard and Stach)...
How's your weekend so far?
Well, i'm returning to my left over pile again, but wanted to leave you with my latest treasure, found in the local craft store this afternoon while searching for a much needed bottle of stamp cleaner (if you get yourself involved in a storage project like this you get one bonus: using all of your stamps! Unfortunately that means cleaning them all too!)...
Oh the joy! A long awaited addition for my collection on glimmermist! So you'll see this used on one of my pages soon, i'm sure of it!
LOL, and I was going to offer myself up in case you wanted to purge ;)
I haven't bough anything scrapbook-rubberstamping related in AGES, but art stuff... that's a whole 'nother story. I have to clean my desk at least twice a day or I won't find anything. Brushes, pens, watercolors, paper, you name it, it's all over the place.
I'm glad you found time to organize your collection, very creative solution :)

What a genius idea! And I totally agree with 'what you can't find easily, you don't use', I need to have a good look through all my stash to remind myself what I have! As for BPS, nothing has grabbed me yet, except maybe the very first layout on Day 1 which featured a little string of bunting - you know how I like bunting. I'm thinking that would work well for a birthday layout which I've yet to do. How about you?

I'm even further impressed PJ! I was going to join in at BPS but my crafting space is all packed away - I'm really not seeing the supplies at the moment! Anyway, I decided to give it a miss this time around. I'm looking forward to seeing how you use this new bottle of glimmermist :-)

great idea !

Groetjes,
Nancy

If i have enough small ones from 1 company i'll put them together on one sheet. If that's not the case i'll put similar looking one together, or just ones that fit on one sheet!

Wat ik niet goed begrijp is hoe de stempels op de achterkant vastgezet worden, en dus ook weer los en weer vast....?
groetjes, Mincka

Well, that's thé handy thing about clear stamps (or stamps with a self-adhering backing... the clear material sticks by itself to the plastic, just like it sticks to a clear stamping block! And if the stamp isn't sticking anymore because it's used to much, rinse it with water and a drop of soft soap if neccesary and you are back in business!

I'm considering that would perform well for mothering sunday celebration structure which I've yet to do.
