At the last moment i decided to join in the fun of this years Week in the Life project! For you who don't know what i'm talking about, please go here for the full explanation on Ali's blog. She started with this project for the first time in 2006, and it's grown into a world wide project ever since!

These are the highlights of my first captured day this year: monday July 25th 2011
09:30 After sleeping in, i got breakfast in bed...
10:00 When i'm ready to take a shower (after another cup of coffee and getting my medicine ready for this week), i find Stach fast asleep in our bed again...
11:00 Loading all our photo's taken on our summer vacation to Paris and Val Joly (north of France, very near to the Belgian border) on my computer...
12:30 after lunch (home-made tuna salad on toast and a 'saucijze broodje' for Stach) the three of us play a game of Monopoly cards... we've played it several times these past few weeks, and every time we're in need for a re-match...
14:00 With Stach's friend Matthijs to the museum: Nemo in Amsterdam (Stach is diving away on the back seat every time i try to take a picture...)
16:00 getting some ice-cream for the boys (ice coffee for me) and enjoying the view from the top of the building...
17:00 back home; the boys play a game on the Wii, Gerard's is making reservations for the last movie of Harry Potter and reading the newspaper (on the iPad) and i go grocery shopping... when i try to take some pictures when i'm back, Jonas is jumping in front of the camera... our little friend missed us so much when we were away on vacation, s0 he grabs every opportunity to be near to us when he can...
18:00 Gerard is cooking dinner and i get to play on the iPad a bit...
18.45 Stach doesn't like the stir friend spinach with pine nuts (?) but he managed to eat a few big bites, even when it's gotten cold...
20:00 Stach is going to bed, and Gerard reads the next chapter of 'de grijze jager' to him... the story is very exiting now... still 2 chapters to go, then the book is done...
22:00 i'm working in my studio, while watching my new favorite movie Julie and Julia again...writing my notes for this day... checking the Big Picture classroom for this class and buy the templates i'm going to use...
00:30 going to bed way to late!!!

To keep the whole project within acceptable boundaries, i have decided to work with a simple two page design every day in an A-4 format (similar to the US 8,5 x 11 size). I limited myself by using a few basic digital templates (designed by Ali especially for this project; you can find these at designer digitals) for my daily pictures and journaling...
One page will have the main picture in a large format, with the journaling in a long journaling block... the opposite page will house the rest af the pictures of that day, with the possibility of extra notes... right now i'm not sure if i will keep this project completely digital, or that i'll have my pictures developed separately and attach them to the templates (with typed journaling) that i'll print at home... i think it depends to the amount of time that i'll have next week...
I'm even thinking of making this project into a retro spective (lovely idea by Marsha) with last years WITL project that is all captured in photo's and words, but never made it into an actual album... ah, we'll see...
Ha! Hoe was de vakantie??? Ik heb niet meegedaan aan WITL... Heb m'n vakantiefoto's nog niet eens op orde! Tot gauw!

glad to see you're back PJ! I sure missed you and your fun scrapbook projects. I always meant to start something like this and then, aargh.. I never do. The closest I get is art journaling, because I can't really take a decent picture to save my life.
Anyway, looking forward to what comes next in this Project Life! :)

Yep, but you can draw! So an art journal is much more suitable for you perhaps? And although the 'art trolley' in my studio is slowley filling up with pens and paints and pastels, that doesn't mean -unfortunately- that my skills in that direction are automaticaly improving too :) !!!

I've decided to keep it simple this year and go with Ali's templates too. I'm looking forward to seeing how she put's it together in the next couple of days. Probably upload most of the photos online and get them printed that way rather than at home.

Yes, i’m thinking of doing the same… printing at home takes so much time (and ink :))…
Did you get the whole WITL kit from Ali?

I bought the WITL Album kit and the WITL Journal cards Vol2, but not the Share Your Story, I think these were released after I bought the others - Im liking the look of them though! And I already have the long journalers, which I bought last year.
